Privacy Policy

Account data. When you sign up we store your name, email address, and authentication details. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment provider Stripe collects your payment details — we never see or store full card numbers.

Your files. Files you upload are stored on secure cloud object storage only for as long as needed to process them and deliver the result. Free browser-tool processing happens client-side where possible and those files never leave your device. Files processed through the API or dashboard (including queued video jobs) are stored temporarily and removed on a rolling basis; they are never used for anything other than returning your result.

Usage data. For every API request we log the endpoint, response status, processing time, file size, and originating key so we can meter credits, show you your own usage dashboard, and debug problems. We also collect standard request metadata (IP address, user agent) for security and rate limiting.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your files to train machine-learning models. We do not share your files or personal data with third parties beyond the service providers listed below, and only to the extent needed to run the Service.

We rely on a small set of infrastructure providers to operate: cloud hosting for the application and workers, cloud object storage for temporary file handling, a managed Postgres database for account and usage data, and Stripe for billing. Each provider processes data only on our instructions.

We use cookies for authentication (keeping you signed in) and basic, privacy-respecting product analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Uploaded and processed files are retained only temporarily for delivery. Account and usage data are kept while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@apiwatermark.com; we will complete deletion within 30 days, except for records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (e.g. invoices).

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us and we will honor these requests consistent with applicable law.

If we change this policy in a material way we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes affecting account holders, notify you by email.
